    How To Transform Your TR8

Posted by Bill on 9th Jul 2020

I've had my 8 for about 7 years. It is a lower mileage (less than 40,000) Pre-production FHC. The car ran very well, the engine was strong, but after spending a long weekend in Vermont with Woody and a bunch of other really great people I wanted the car to have more. So right before Christmas my wife convinced me to go for the engine upgrade. Sent the engine to Woody and got it back a couple of months later. The process was great. Woody talked to me about what I wanted the engine to be, how I drove the car, and kept in touch while the engine was being built. We went with a high compression setup that included pistons, 4L heads, and a Woody selected Erson cam. The car is completely different now. So much quicker off the line and then pulls forever. Oh and the sound it makes! The biggest problem I have now is staying at a "reasonable" speed. I highly recommend this upgrade.
