How to Guide (Lifter Prep, Preload Settings, Cam break-in Procedure) PLEASE READ:
Cam break in procedure (Summary):
- Be sure to soak lifters in mineral oil. See link above for more details.
- Be sure to setup lifter preload correctly. See link above for more details.
- Fill engine with break-in oil. We use Driven racing oil break in 10w40 or Royal Purple break in oil, which can be found at your local auto parts store.
- Break in motor for 20 minutes at 2000rpms. DO NOT IDLE MOTOR DURING THIS TIME.
- If you purchased a 14CUX chip, please stock chip and MAF for break in. Change out to TWS chip and MAF after break in.
- Change oil after break in process. We recommend 20-50w or 10w40 with zinc or zinc additive. Valvoline VR1 20-50 for hot climates or Driven Racing 10-40 for warm climates. NO SYNTHETIC OILS
- Check oil after first 500 miles. (checking for oil level, fuel smell in oil, shininess in oil (metal))
- Change oil after first 1000 miles.
- For 14CUX, GEMS or Bosch vehicles, we recommend you follow the initial break in procedure, followed by a quick 5-minute drive, shut off the car and let sit for 15 minutes, followed by a 15-minute drive. This will allow the ECUs to adjust appropriately.
If you are building a race motor or forced induction motor, heavy duty valves springs will be required. Please call +1-508-880-5448 and press option 2 to discuss the details or email contact@twsmotors.com

Performance Cam Kit
Really good guys to deal with. Thoroughly worked through my requirements and very detailed to provide the best possible cam profile.

Better than I expected.
I am very pleased with the performance of this camshaft kit. Since it was my first time with this type of engine upgrade I was unsure. However, Woody was very descriptive and explanatory. I can really tell the difference in the lower and mid range torque. My Range Rover is more responsive and seems like it has more power available at cruising speed. Thanks a lot for making this a pleasant experience. Douglas

Nice cam
Took Woody's recommendation for the best grind for my car (basically stock 3.5 FI engine with headers, daily driver). Cam arrived quickly, installed easily, and is running great. Not sure how much is due to removing the old, worn cam vs. the new spec, but very happy with the improvement. Engine pulls strong @ 2K in 5th, old cam required a downshift, and where there didn't ever seem to be a point in going over 3.5K with the old cam, it now blows through to 5K, with some grunt left.
