    Mineral Oil for Priming Hydraulic Lifters - Really?

    I’m currently building a 1978 MGB Roadster - Rover V8. The Wedge Shop is one of the few places in the USA where I could get Rover V8 parts. While purchasing a replacement camshaft and hydraulic lifters, at the bottom of the page was mineral oil for priming the lifters. I have never used mineral oil before, but after thinking about it, I could see where the lifters would receive proper lubricity long enough while the first time start could prime the lifters without collapsing. Good showing and sharing of experience by the Wedge Shop. MJ
