This is a custom built heavy duty drive shaft with oversize U-joints and slip yoke setup. This work with either stock or cars with our ford rear-ends. This is must for high horsepower cars. This has propelled BAD 8 into the high 11's on street tires!

Two holes need to be drilled on the rear flange in order to install.

Additional shipping charge may be required.

replacement for original driveshaft (100k miles on it)

Posted by Dennis Conly on 17th Jun 2025

It was obvious that the CV joints were past their prime. I was getting clicking noises and a lot of driveline snatch. New shaft cured that. However, I bought all new bolts and nylock nuts which were totally compatible with the original bolts. But, where the original bolts slipped easily into the new yoke holes, the new bolts wouldn't slide through!? Had to ream the holes a fraction to get the bolts through the new yoke holes. Yet the original nuts went on easily to the new bolts. Appears that the new bolts were a nano meter larger in diameter. Source was Ace Hardware and they were 10.9's, metric equivalent to number 8's. The original bolts were also metric, perfect #17 mm wrench. Strange, but true! Should have sourced the new bolts from specialty store. Might have made the difference. Very happy with the new driveshaft.

    So Far, So Good

Posted by Unknown on 25th Oct 2018

I bought the TR7 version of the driveshaft(as I understand it, it is the same construction as the drive shaft for the TR8, but a bit longer), and installed it last week. I did take a short test drive on local streets and a bit of interstate the day after it was installed and it performed perfectly so far. I do want to test it on some rougher roads, then do an under-car inspection, but have not had a chance to do that yet. I want to commend and thank Woody (The Wedge Shop proprietor) on the support and help he gave me during both the purchasing process (he gave me a valuable tip on the installation which made it go smoothly, he shipped it exactly when he said he would, and I received it only several days after ordering it),and the installation process. After receiving it, I had some concern about its length and whether there was enough clearance (the heavy duty u-joints on the new shaft have a larger circumference than the original CV joints). Woody patiently took the measurements that I was concerned about, called his supplier to double check, then got back to me within a few minutes assuring me that all was OK --- and it appears that he was right! I value that kind hand-holding and it was sincerely appreciated by this amateur mechanic.

HMMM not fitted yet but may I say a well engineered and manufactured item cannot fault, I think I would break the car before the drive shaft
