8-Speed Conversion Kit for Classic Land Rovers

This 8-Speed Conversion Kit brings modern drivability to your Range Rover Classic or Defender while keeping the original Land Rover character intact. This kit provides the critical adapters, wiring, and shifter integration required to install a ZF 8HP gearbox with your LT230 transfer case.

Build time: Each kit is assembled to order and typically takes 3–6 weeks before freight.

Important: This kit requires your factory ECU to be upgraded to communicate with the TurboLamik TCU. Without an ECU upgrade, the gearbox controller will not function correctly. We suggest our Canems 14cux standalone ECU. It will come plug and play. 

Rover V8 to 8HP & LT230 Adapter Kit

What’s Included:

  • Engine Adapter Kit: Billet CNC adapter plate, custom flexplate, and hardware (Rover V8 to 8HP)
  • Transfer Case Adapter Kit: 8HP to LT230 interface with mounting hardware
  • TurboLamik TCU 2.0 with Loom: Supplied with pre-configured shift maps and plug-and-play harness
  • A90 Supra Shifter: Supplied with mount and loom integration

Add ons:

  • Rebuilt ZF8HP70 transmission: Fully rebuilt and ready to bolt in with your LT230 transfer case

Gearbox Compatibility:

This kit is designed for the Land Rover ZF 8HP automatic from:

  • Discovery TDV6 or TDV8
  • Range Rover 5.0 V8

Not compatible with BMW, Audi, or other non-Land Rover variants of the 8HP.
