Viscous Coupling Fan Clutch unit with part number ERR3443.
This unit attaches to the water pump, where a mechanical clutch, activated by heat, wears out fairly regularly, depending upon the type of driving conditions you encounter.
It should be checked for cracks and freeze-ups often, and replaced when the water pump fails.
This is for the 3.9/4.0L Rover V8 engines. Comes with a 35mm nut on an M30 x 1.5mm thread fitting.
