TWS Aluminum Radiator TR8
TWS MotorsOur A/C radiator is an exact replacement to the OEM, but will a higher capacity and better cooling properties because of the Aluminum. Can be used with stock fans, but we recommend our Aftermarket 14in fan setup.
The Non A/C Aluminum radiator (pictured) is a larger than OEM setup with almost twice the cooling capacity of stock. It runs two 1" tubes per row. We have also set it up for use with a cooling fan sensor allowing you to run an aftermarket electric fan. Your normal NON A/C doesn't come with this.
- We recommend running our shroud and 14in electric fan with this setup for optimal cooling and fan mounting
- When the fan and shroud combo is purchased, it will be installed for you before shipping
- Fan option is our aftermarket 14in fan and includes mounting hardware
- Mounting your fan directly to the radiator without a shroud voids all warranty
Installation
- When using our GM Alternator Kit, you can wire your fan via the temp sensor per below.

Aluminum radiator
Although I have yet to install this and check it's efficiency, I will say this is a thing of beauty. I'm looking forward having it in just to look at it. As a matter of fact, it has gotten me thinking that I need to beautify the areas around it so it really pops!

TR8 aluminium Rad/fan combo
Installation was straight forward and I installed it without a relay. Having said this I think I will put in relay energized by by ignition. Currently the fan works great but will remain running after you shut the key off until the temp reached to set shut off point. My own preference is that it shuts off when the key goes off. Other than that, the rad and fan work great.

Radiator installation
Nice craftmanship of this aluminum rad and the fit into the car is great. No problem fitting the Maradyne fan to it.

Radiator/fan combination
Ordered the radiator/fan combination. The old fans and brackets were about 2 lbs heavier than the new radiator/fan combo, so I lost an estimated 15 lbs up front from the old radiator. I recieved the fan already attatched to the radiator, thanks Woody and staff ! Wiring was very easy, 1 ground and 1 power wire attatch to the driver's side fan plug. While everything is out, you get to check and clean under the cowell too. Install was direct, mount radiator on the support bracket and bolt it back up. Prefill the radiator through the upper hose and recovery tank. Make sure to check that the upper hose isn't rubbing the belt pulley. Actual readings on the temperature gauge was about 1/8 th lower than the old fans. Not a big jump, but it's been 95-100 F here in St Louis Mo. It's not running at the 3/4 gauge reading like it was before. I also wrapped the fuel lines with heat tape to eliminate vapor lock in the carbs. Didn't know how much difference I should expect in the gauge reading but it's definitely cooler by about 1/8 th. This is on my '78 pre-production TR8 with a/c.

Very well made radiator
This is a really well made radiator. Mine is the A/C one and it fits perfect. Thanks to Woody for mounting the electric fan on it for me. Everything is very solid.

What a cool addition to my TR8
Installation took 30 minutes.... and another 35 minutes after applying band-aids to my knuckles. With all the engine upgrades this will keep me nice and cool this summer. And thanks to Woody for installing the petcock; I've always wanted an easy way to drain the radiator. Global warming, here I come!
