This is a brand new pre-engaged, M79 style starter for late model Austin Mini which used the 129 tooth ring gear which happened approximately in 1984 but double check your car is an 1984 or 1985. No more having to mess around with a rebuilt unit. These are 100% brand new for a long life. Cross Reference LRS536, GXE4527
