Oil Seal Clutch Mini up to 1992
This is the Crankshaft rear seal that presses into the flywheel housing. Sometimes it is called a clutch seal or a primary oil seal. Overtime the seal can be weakened and dried and cracked. Replace this seal to keep your Mini leak free. Also a tech tip, it is very easy to damage this seal when installing the primary gear. To keep the gear from damaging the seal put a thin piece of heavy paper on the inside of the seal. This will allow the gear to slide in the paper and when installed you simply remove the paper.
