The TWS Motors custom remanufactured 4.0-liter Land Rover GEMS short block engine (Part # 9257ARK) offers superior remanufacturing for a quality engine replacement that fits Land Rover Discovery I 1996 – 1999, Range Rover 4.0 1995 – 1999 and Defender 90 1997 model vehicles. This 4.0-liter GEMS engine replacement is designed to last and solve common issues found with stock Rover engines.
Our unique rebuild process corrects sleeve pressure seal problems that caused failures with a number of original equipment engines. The blocks used in our engines are parallel-decked to the main bearing saddles, ensuring uniform compression across the entire block for more even and consistent idling. Our specially-designed, flanged sleeves ensure a positive seal between the flanged cylinder liners and the engine head, preventing compression gas leaks or sleeve movement. The crankshaft is polished to ensure no imperfections. Our remanufactured engines also use a specially-manufactured, original-style cam bearing set that improves lubrication to the front of the cam shaft.
