This TWS Motors custom remanufactured 4.0-liter Land Rover GEMS long block engine (Part # 9257ARHRK) features remanufactured and installed engine heads and a new rockershaft assembly. Each engine is subjected to a meticulous remanufacturing process to produce a best-in-class engine replacement that fits Defender 90 1997, Range Rover 4.0 1995 - 1999 and Land Rover Discovery I 1996 - 1999 models. As an added benefit, this 4.0-liter GEMS engine replacement is designed to address several performance issues that plagued earlier stock Rover engines.
The remanufacturing process used for each engine resolves sleeve pressure seal problems that created failures with a number of OE, factory-issued engines. Each engine block used in all of our rebuilds are parallel-decked to the main bearing saddles, which guarantees uniform compression across the entire block and consistent idling. Our flanged sleeves are specially-designed to create a positive seal between the flange cylinder liners and the engine head. This design prevents compression gas leaks or excess sleeve movement. As an added benefit, the crankshaft is polished which means no imperfections. This reman engine also uses a custom-manufactured original-style cam bearing set to improve lubrication at the front of the cam shaft.
This engine is setup with precision-installed engine heads, a new rockershaft assembly, tappet assemblies, push arms, rods and single-use head bolts. With these components pre-installed, you will save time and labor with heads already torqued down to exacting specifications and no valve job required!

Each engine is packed and shipped in a specially-designed rotomold crate that makes returning your old core a cinch!
