TWS vs ARP & Stock
- The stock head bolts and the ARP head bolts, do not go all the way into the hole, which makes them prone to pulling out when being torqued down
- This can lead to early head gasket failure
- The ARP studs also have very thin washer that bow when going through the head torque sequence. We've corrected this with a thicker, more resilient washer
- We use a multi point head nut, instead of a standard hex. This ensures torque is applied evenly when tightening
These are standard on all TWS Performance Engine Builds.
How to identify 10 bolt vs 14 bolt heads. Generally 14 bolt heads are on older rover V8's 3.5, 3.9 and 4.2 and run a 36cc combustion chamber. 10 Bolts heads, commonly referred to as 28cc heads, are found on 4.0 and 4.6's from the factory.
