After years of working on Discovery 2's in the shop, we've pulled together a "must do" list for when you pick up a "new to you" Discovery 2. These parts are a combination of maintenance items that are often neglected, common failure parts, and improvement parts. All of these items are easy to replace and can be done with little no mechanical knowledge. 

 

    • We also include a tool that makes getting the fill off the transfer case much easier.
    • Fill the transmission fluid up when cold, start car and move from Drive to Reverse a few times, let car warm up, then top off fluid while the car is running.
    • The D2 wiper blades are known for not making full contact with the window. This fixes that problem.
    • Known for dying a slow death, this will improve throttle response and MPG. Don't be fooled by all the knocks off out there.
    • Never seen an OEM one intact. An eye sore more than anything.
    • Almost never replaced, but always dry rotted. 
    • A common failure point. Drive safe and rest easy with a new one. We include the socket needed to make this change over easy. 
    • Keep those temps down and your engine happy
  • Other easy things to do:
      • Grease all  your rear driveshaft fittings with a grease gun. Your local harbor freight will be your friend for one of these.
      • Use only OAT antifreeze, ensure it is topped off
      • Change your oil and filter. We recommend Driven 10-40 or Valvoline VR1 20-50. Always add a bottle of zinc additive during each oil change
