This is an finned alloy sump for a Triumph TR250 and TR6. Made in Germany, the rigidity of the sump improves stability of the engine block for higher output engines. Also the pump comes pre-drilled and plugged for an oil return line or temperature sender. Plus when the sump was designed it has a large flat mating surface unlike the stop pressed metal pans to insure a good sealing surface to stop leaks between the pan and the block.
